Real - Alaska. Saw my last show Denver 12/92, during Truckin' the line " sometimes the cards aint worth a dime if you don't lay em down" those lines made me make up my mind to lay my cards down and move up here.

Fantasy - too many places to mention, from space to the old west

Real: Alpine Valley - 13 shows - I live only 5 or so hours from there so it wasn't that long of a trip and yet, it was that long of a trip, if ya know what I mean. Saw Dylan there one night in '88 and then it was two nights of the Dead and a day off and then two more nights of the Dead. Camped out craziness. No one there escaped the dust bowl. Wow!

Fantasy: Brokedown Palace always took me to some special places.

Whewww...Mc...that just tops them all!

Great call. Which, if any, band would ever tell you about a transitive nightfall anyhow???

Thanks.

Agree with the Cumberland ref---I live in Frederick (Fredneck), MD. When I was a kid my father owned property outside of Flintstone---I spent most weekends there playing in the woods & fishing down along the canal. Family friends went to a private Catholic school in Cumberland.

Read my review of what was my last show:
http://www.archive.org/details/gd95-06-30.schoeps.3376.sbeok.shnf

Fantasy---"Spent the night in Utah in a cave up in the hills". While I've been to Utah & LOVE the Fou Corners region, it's still a "fantasy" (or maybe "wish" is a better term) to go back.

High flow, very nice selections. Always loved that lyric from Standing on The Moon and I'm from So Cal!

Thanks Lobster.

Johnny and I had a chat about that lyric previously. Johnny questioned whether there are ANY back porches in SF and if you'd really want to be there on a foggy July nite....hahaha. All that said, it's a mighty fine lyric. Indeed.

Lyric #2....take you to the leader of the band...

Well, when aliens land on earth in old movies and cartoons, they always said, "Take me to your leader". So I have always imagined aliens(or GD newbies) arriving at the show...and in very robotic voices asking to be taken to see Jerry...or Pig.

That was the simple, yet frightening, thought process that went into your brilliantly topic-ed post.

That SOTM lyric would have made a great parking lot shirt. The Calvin and Hobbs mixed with dead lyrics was big for a while. I thought those guys sitting on a porch with the golden gate in the distance might have been a big seller.
